Comfort

“I don’t want to be an American idiot…”

And yet I am.

I follow what the government tells me to do, hoping to find comfort in the self-quarantine, in the hand sanitizer, in the truckloads of toilet paper.

And yet I’m not comforted.

There is no comfort in the CDC, or in “flattening the curve,” or even in a vaccine itself.

Strawmen.

Comfort comes from neighbor helping neighbor.

Communities of people coming together (virtually, of course) to help those who need it.

That’s where I’ll find my comfort. Being a part of that.
